IOS 11.4: Apple Releases New Software Update

Apple has released its new mobile operating system which has created a lot of rustle among the apple users. It has added new features on its existing OS with solutions for its previous bugs that iPhone users kept on complaining about.

The new IOS solves three main bugs encountered by the previous IOS 11 users. First of all the update addresses the “Black Dot “issue that crashed several apps which were triggered by a specific character sequence involving certain emojis. The new release no longer faces problems from a particular character of a sequence.

The second issue the new IOS has addressed is the problems users faced because of their iMessages appearing out of order. Truly, an irritating bug which was around in the previous IOS now poses no threat to the users with the new update.

The third issue has to be the apps on the home screen appearing in the wrong location. The apps would generally hover out of intended place which got a lot of attention from a number of users who saw the problem occur.

Other smaller issues fixed include, car audio becoming distorted, issue preventing data sync in health, issue preventing users from changing what apps can access from health, Music failing while playing over Bluetooth or when connected to USB in vehicles.

The new update boasts of Airplay 2 meaning that airplay now will be able to handle streaming to multiple speakers. You can pair multiple speakers to deliver a much wider soundstage, pair speakers together in stereo and control different music across multiple rooms from a single IOS device. For e.g.: You could choose to play classical music in one of the rooms while you play metal on the other. This has created a new opportunity for Apple to compete with companies like Bose and Sonos.

The new IOS has also included messages on iCloud meaning you will now be sync your messages to the cloud and the users will not lose conversation history if they move on to a different IOS device. The messages are also encrypted by device passcode and information unique to the device so that only the owner will know of its content.

Another completely new feature brought to the table is the SCHOOL WORK and CLASS KIT. Both software initiatives focus on educational app developers. SCHOOL WORK is for teachers to communicate information, appraise student’s progress, make assignments whereas, CLASS KIT is for app developers to designate different information and activities in their apps so that teachers can effectively use them.

We expect that the new IOS 11.4 will be the last edition to the range of IOS 11. Apple is said to launch IOS 12 at the World Developer’s Conference in a beta testing capacity ahead of public reach till fall. The IOS 11.4 is available for a model of 5s and above, iPad mini 2 or later, iPad Air and later and the 6th generation iPod.

For now, you can check for the update by going into “SETTINGS”, tapping “GENERAL” and clicking on “SOFTWARE UPDATE”. For you home pods you can update the HOME app. Tap the little location arrow icon in the upper left of the Home tab. Scroll down to the Speakers section and tap Software Update.
