One Plus 9 Pro (Review, Features and Updates)

Overview

With 2022 rapidly approaching its end, anticipations for the next year have already begun to rise. Every primary tech business is looking to expand its horizons with new smartphone launches in 2023, so the tech sector isn't far behind. People are also spoiled about having new phones to choose from, but some fans might stick to their choice of brands. Steady but indeed Today, OnePlus has become one of the valuable brands in the smartphone manufacturing industry. The OnePlus 9 Pro is an excellent flagship phone that, at least in terms of functionality and quality, can compete with the top Android phones on the market. It's still destined to remain a niche product for a tiny number of fans looking for a special kind of elegance in their Android handset in terms of market and mind share. OnePlus' flagship phones always have a laundry list of top-of-the-line specs, but what makes the OnePlus 9 Pro great is how well those features translate into one of the most incredible Android experiences available.

Features and Specifications

The brand-new OnePlus 9 Pro Series has been released to set some new standards in the milestone that OnePlus has paved in the past years. In order to make the OnePlus 9 Pro a strong rival with the industry's top, the OnePlus doubled down on technology. This incorporates OnePlus' most ambitious camera system yet, developed in collaboration with Hasselblad, a high-end camera manufacturer.

The OnePlus 9 Pro has the following features and specifications in its latest line up of the 9 Pro series:

Design

The OnePlus 9 Pro appears to be fairly similar to the brand's other recent smartphones at first glance. We have a curved rear this time, with a rectangular camera housing in the corner and a large display on the front.

The phone is a lot more comfortable to hold than the OnePlus 8 Pro from last year, thanks to a drop in size on all three axes. With a thickness of only 8.7mm and a weight of less than 200 grams, it can now fit into significantly more pockets and purses without becoming uncomfortable.

Processors and Ram

The OnePlus 9 Pro is considered a beast when it comes to performance. OnePlus has always delivered the pro performance in the smartphone market. OnePlus ensures that the 9 Pro has all the power you require, regardless of how you want to use it. Whether you're a social media genius, a YouTube junkie, or a gamer, the OnePlus 9 Pro has you covered. You'll be able to manage anything your daily use throws at it thanks to the Snapdragon 888 processor and either 8GB or 12GB of RAM. Even with the screen performance maxed out, the phone quickly zipped through ordinary chores. There was no stuttering or lagging for me. Multitasking and occasional heavy-duty streaming did not affect performance. Day in and day out, the OnePlus 9 Pro functions up to expectations.

Battery

The OnePlus 9 Pro has an impressive battery capacity. The battery capability of the OnePlus 9 Pro and the OnePlus 9 is the same. It has a 4500 mAh battery and can run smoothly up to the impressive time frame of 23 hours. The battery is also capable of charging as quickly as possible. The fast-charging feature of OnePlus devices has made it stand out among other competitors in the market. The OnePlus 9 and the OnePlus Pro both include 65-watt fast charging. It's incredible and astonishingly fast, going from empty to full in approximately 30 minutes. It's ideal for when you've neglected to charge your phone and only need to give it a quick charge before heading out. Even better, a 65-watt fast charger is included in the box, eliminating the need to buy another charger which adds extra expenses. Though not as quickly as the 9 Pro's 50-watt wireless charging, it also supports wireless charging. I don't think that's a significant loss, but it's something to consider.

Camera

OnePlus smartphones have always lagged behind other high-end Android smartphones regarding cameras. With the OnePlus 9 Pro, the firm alters this in several ways, transforming it into a true flagship with no significant flaws.

This was accomplished by using new sensors for the primary and ultra-wide cameras and processing assistance from Hasselblad, a renowned camera manufacturer. According to reports, the gains in color accuracy and temperature are significant, outperforming its predecessors and the majority of the competitors.

Display

The OnePlus 9's 6.7-inch AMOLED display is stunning. It's the phone's highlight for me because it's bright, fluid, and has a ton of features and options that help you customise your experience. The display is somewhat curved but not excessively so, as is typical with OnePlus flagships, allowing for a pleasant navigating experience. The display is also razor-sharp at 525ppi, thanks to the 1440 x 3216 resolution, and vibrant, with various display color profiles to pick from. The maximum brightness and viewing angles are also excellent so that you won't have any issues with screen visibility, even in direct sunlight.

Operating System

OxygenOS, OnePlus' user interface skin, is usually a popular favourite. With its software, the company's philosophy is to produce seamless, speedy experiences. Though the Android 11-based OxygenOS 11 isn't for everyone, I think it's a reasonable basis for the phone. Some customers were unhappy with the switch from Roboto to OnePlus Sans in the system typefaces and the UI's revised usage of white space. These changes may be unsettling for long-time OnePlus users. OxygenOS 12 has received a slight design update to make it more modern. The menus and other elements have reduced information density, and the font is bolder across the interface, making it easier to read. The icons, which are based on neumorphism and have subtle shadows and gradients, have also been updated.
