The new iPhone 14 Series Leaks and Rumors

Design

Let's start with one of the best things that could happen on a new iPhone. iPhone 14 could boast an entirely new design, according to some rumours. The last time iPhone had a complete design overhaul with the iPhone X was when Apple got rid of the home button. The full-screen design with controversial screen notch made its way into the latest iPhone 13 line-up. So, it is due time that Apple provides iPhone with a new design overhaul.

The best thing about the new design is that Apple will get rid of the screen notch, which had been loved and hated among the users. This new design would provide us with a clean full screen for the iPhone. Replacing the notch is the one-hole camera punch out, which would be a welcome sight.

Besides removing the camera notch, Apple could also remove the camera bump, causing some hindrances. We aren't sure how Apple will pull this off, but rumours suggest the iPhone 14 could be thicker than its previous models. The last time Apple increased the phone's thickness, it massively improved the heat management issue that plagued the older iPhone models. This time a slick phone design with no camera bump is nothing but good news.

Camera Bump

Another extraordinary leak that we came across is the potential camera upgrade on the new iPhone 14 line-up. Although only the top-end models would receive this camera upgrade, it is still massive compared to the existing iPhone 13 series camera.

The new camera upgrade could lead iPhone 14 Pro & iPhone 14 Pro Max to feature a 48MP camera which is a massive leap from the 12MP camera. The existing camera on the iPhone 13 line-up, though it doesn't look impressive on the spec sheet, surely does provide the performance. However, Apple providing a 48MP camera could set the models apart from the crowd and stand out.

New Model

The new iPhone 14 series line-up release could also feature an entirely new iPhone model. Apple could replace the Mini with a Max variant. So, we might get an iPhone 14 Max instead of the iPhone 14 Mini. The Mini model of the iPhone always had difficulty finding its audience. Though iPhone 13 Mini is an excellent device, the compact design would miss out on the phone's battery life, which might be a significant turn off for many users.

Also, the smaller screen amongst the bigger screen phone is not appealing. So, it could be a nice thing that Apple is planning to ditch the Mini and provide us with iPhone 14 Max instead. Apple could place the entirely new iPhone 14 Pro Max model between the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max.

Screen

The new iPhone 14 Pro Max could feature a massive 6.68-inch display with a 120Hz refresh rate. On the other hand, the iPhone 14 Max could also feature a similar display with a 60Hz refresh rate. There can be two base models, the iPhone 14 and the iPhone 14 Pro, with 6.1-inch displays and a 60Hz display.

Multiple rumours surround this, so it is unclear which models get the higher refresh rate. We might get iPhones with all variants featuring a 120Hz refresh rate screen. However, the top variant might feature a variable refresh rate feature. Despite the inclusion of the OLED screens, these are all we know about the screens on the upcoming models.

Battery & Charging

With rumours surrounding thicker iPhones, bigger batteries could power the new iPhone 14 series models. Apple could be the smartphone in the market with minuscule battery size, but that could all change with the new iPhone release.

In terms of charging, however, things could remain the same as Apple isn't planning to ditch the lightning port from the bottom of the phone. With new plans to eliminate the lightning port in smartphones. And Apple featuring MagSafe charging to its iPhones, the lightning port might come to an end sooner than we want it to. As of now, Apple will feature the lightning port on the upcoming iPhone 14 line-up.

Chipset & Other Features

Apple is going to provide a new chipset for the iPhone 14 line-up. The new chipset could be called A16 or A16 Bionic. This chipset will be significantly more powerful than the A15 Bionic that powered the iPhone 13 series. In addition, the iPhone 14 line-up could again have 8GB of RAM in terms of the RAM. The previous iPhones had 6GB of RAM, the highest we have ever seen in an iPhone.

Another essential upgrade that we will get on the upcoming iPhone 14 series is the Type-C port instead of the Lightning port. This change will be a good initiative from Apple as USB-C is a more widely used port than the niche lightning port exclusive to Apple. In addition, we could also get to see an under-screen fingerprint sensor that we are excited about. Although, Apple is more likely to provide Face ID with the Touch ID as an option than ditch the already working Face ID for the new Touch ID unlock feature.

These speculations are all the information about the upcoming iPhone 14 series. We are keeping our ears open for any new leaks that concern the release of the new line-up, which is not out yet. Follow us for more tech news and exciting updates every week.
