Exciting New Updates On iOS 15 Wallet App

Apple is set to launch its new i0S 15, and we can't wait for all the new updates that we will receive with this new operating system. For example, Apple has recently disclosed the updates that we will get with its digital Wallet app. These features are another step in replacing the traditional wallet, cards and keys.

However, this might be quite a challenge for Apple. It requires other third-party companies to adapt Apple's Wallet support. Nevertheless, Apple seems keen on adding on these features to make this a reality. So here are all the highlights of all the new features that we can expect from the upcoming Wallet app in iOS 15.

Digital IDs

Especially in the US, Apple is working with the authorities to allow iPhone users to incorporate their driver's licence and state ID card information to Apple's Wallet App. This feature would allow the users to use the Wallet app instead of the physical driver's license or other ID cards. This way, iPhone users could have all their necessary information stored in the wallet and leave their cards at home.

The digital ID cards could also be used while travelling to verify own's identifications at checkpoints or before boarding a plane. Apple Watch will also carry this feature. However, there is much authority that Apple needs to clear this off to implement its Digital ID. It has not been disclosed yet which states will implement these features first.

Digital Keys

Apple has introduced digital key storage to its Wallet App, which they hope will replace the physical keys. These digital versions of the keys will be compatible with Apple's HomeKit-compatible locks using a Wallet-based house key. Apple is planning on implementing the same features with digital keys for Offices, Hotels, Cars. These features will allow employees to leave their traditional badges behind and use their iPhones or Apple Watches for location access.

Apple is set to incorporate a similar feature with its digital keys for Hotels, allowing customers to make reservations and unlock hotel rooms. The digital keys for Hotels will potentially allow the customers to bypass the lobby and have their information automatically archived after the checkout. However, these features might not be readily available with the upcoming iOS 15.

Although, iOS 15 does have support for Digital Car Keys that the users can use for locking and unlocking car doors, controlling horns, and other Car controls. At the moment, only BMW has implemented this Car Keys Support. However, more car manufactures are set to adopt this feature.

Archived Passes

With these revolutionary features, Apple has also organized this feature with effortless archiving of Wallet Data. So that users no longer have to remove expired passes manually. For example, a user can use the Wallet feature to board a plane. The wallet automatically removes and organizes the used passes. Users can activate this feature through settings in the Wallet & Apple Pay section. The feature will also allow you to keep the old passes if you choose to.

There are also features where the users can download multiple passes at once instead of downloading one pass at a time. The feature allows users to organize their passes better and makes them more likely to adapt to the new digital wallet.
