Apple has announced that iPhone 12 and 12 Mini will now be obtainable in purple color along with new iMacs, an updated Apple TV, an iPad Pro. The announcement was made at Apple's spring event on Tuesday.
Before now, the iPhone 12 and 12 Mini were available in black, white, blue, green, and red. Apple said the new purple color is intended to induce spring. However, the purple color is not available in iPhone 12 Pro or 12 Pro Max. The iPhone 12 Pro and 12 Pro Max are available in graphite, gold, silver, and blue finishes.
In terms of specifications, the purple iPhone is the same as the existing iPhone 12 and 12 Mini. It has the same flat-sided design, support for 5G, and an OLED screen with support for HDR. The screen is protected with Apple's ceramic shield and it runs on the same iOS 14 software and even has the same cameras.
The purple iPhone 12 goes on presale on April 23 and will be available on April 30. The Prices start at AU$1,350 for the iPhone 12. The purple iPhone 12 Mini starts at AU$1,199.
