Removable Batteries on Phones? Again?

Back in the simpler times, there were phones with removable batteries, which some still miss. However, they were easy to exchange on damage which made it easier to repair, which meant a huge price drop on the cost. In addition, you could have some spare batteries with you and not worry about fast charging or incredible battery life.

Nowadays, phones have upgraded with non-removable batteries. They come powered with fast charging and have impressive battery life. However, there are few if any phones on the market with good old removable batteries. In these consecutive times of technologies, could the removable batteries be back on phones?

It is unlikely, but there are certain rumours that Samsung is launching more phones with removable ones? Though there might be some advantages to removable batteries, it just seems like a thing from the past. So now the real question remains, will Samsung do it? It is indeed an exciting thing to see.

Mid-range Samsungs with Removable Batteries

We could soon have more smartphones with removable batteries again from one of the tech giants, Samsung. There is a rumour indicating that Samsung is planning to bring removable batteries back to more of its smartphones. However, it is doubtful that the high-end line-ups of the Samsung phones will have removable batteries. Instead, the removable batteries will probably be for affordable mid-range phones from Galaxy A Series or perhaps the J-Series, which will aid in the affordable price tags.

The release of the Galaxy Xcover Pro phone with a 4050mAh removable battery was a first look at what the phone would look like with a removable battery. And we are yet to see the line-up that is going to follow this perhaps even from other manufacturers as well. It will significantly impact the affordability of mobile phones if this is the case. Battery replacements are much more expensive for phones with non-removable batteries. Removable batteries will also reduce the repair cost of the device. So there could be a place in the market for removable batteries.

There are pros and cons for both the battery types on the phones. So, who would Samsung target this phone to? Who would want this? If you are someone who wants to have the ease of having removable batteries on your device. Then, this would be the phone for you.
